I guess all of u heard the latest trending news about viewing/visiting/downloading from any torrent/blocked website will led u to imprisonment for 3 yrs and 3 lakh rs fine..

Is it true..?

During visiting many websites through tata internet service providers customers are seeing this msg :--

"This URL has been blocked under the instructions of the Competent Government Authority or in compliance with the orders of a Court of competent jurisdiction. Viewing, downloading, exhibiting or duplicating an illicit copy of the contents under this URL is punishable as an offence under the laws of India, including but not limited to under Sections 63, 63-A, 65 and 65-A of the Copyright Act, 1957 which prescribe imprisonment for 3 years and also fine of upto Rs. 3,00,000/-. Any person aggrieved by any such blocking of this URL may contact at urlblock [at] tatacommunications [dot] com who will, within 48 hours, provide you the details of relevant proceedings under which you can approach the relevant High Court or Authority for redressal of your grievance"

Probably we all r assuming nothing will happen but as the rule is applied so I think being on safe side for 3-6 months probably best option...

The question here isn't about the implementation of the act and 'kis kis ko jail me dalega',and in all probability very few people will eventually be prosecuted through this. What worries me is that the government has acquired a very potent weapon by which they can put anyone they despise behind bars on the pretext of breaking this law. In my opinion, this law is just like the law on sedition where one can be put in jail even for drawing cartoons, raising slogans and criticising lawmakers. This sets a dangerous precedent.

And I can assure that there would never be a blanket enforcement of this law. It will only be used by the government against those who are in the bad books of theirs and specifically targeted by them. Hence not using torrents for sometime is not the solution. Trying not to upset the government is! Anyway the center was in no mood to bring this law, they were pressurized by the big production houses of India and abroad.

One last point that I want to make is sharing magnets links or using magnet links directly in a torrent client without visiting the blocked URL or using magnet link for direct download like most of us do is also a crime under the provisions of the above law. It is of utmost necessity that one makes himself anonymous while engaged in such activities.

Bro purane member lagte ho, aur joker ke pic bhi lagaye ho, so main guess karta hoon ke tumhe yeh samjhane ki jaroorat nhi hai ke vpn wa proxy use karne se koi kisi ko ban nhi karne wala. Waise to vpn connections encrypted rehte hi hai, phir bhi kisi unmonitored port se connection tunnel karo to data ka hisaab nhi hoga. Chill..

Although I am a old member but not expert in this field..
As vpn r encrypted I know but not all the vpns as they keep log..

heard about it but as u mentiones in thread.. we get notice like u said.. but if u noticed we never got notice like tht in any website we stll only getting.

so even if u get got u can be free bcoz they are not displaying what they said we get.
