WHAT DO YOU WANT TO CHANGE THE STATUS BAR OR THE BACKGROUND OF THE NOTIFICATION?
YOU CAN'T CHANGE IT IF YOU ARE NOT USING ANDROID 4.1.2+ VERSION!!OR EQUIVALENT CYANOGENMOD 10.1

i searched for your phone on xda forum but couldn't get your device listed means it's yet to be modded..so i would say that be happy with what you got,,

I thing u have not used ur android as rooted user....am i right?then it may not be possible then,,

I ROOTED MY DEVICE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT,,,,
no i am just kidding..
i rooted my xperia arc after 8 months from the purchase date ..it's almost 2 years and now i can't live without the root and also i have unlocked my bootloader ..till now i have tested half of the roms and kernels available from the xda..
the above comment which i posted was to just inform you that in the absence of any help from xda you might brick your phone or whatever..now i don't care ...
